Cut off time for the Marathon and Half Marathon will be 6 hours after start time.
Shuttle bus timetable
Free shuttle buses run to and from the park during the event.​ Competitors, families and community members can use this service. Competitors will be given priority on early buses.
​
Children must be accompanied by a carer who is 16 years of age or older. For safety reasons, unaccompanied children under 16 will not be permitted to travel on the shuttle buses.

The Shuttle Bus leaves Coober Pedy for the 30 minute trip to the starting line from outside the Council Offices on Hutchison street at.....
8am, 9am, 10am, 12 noon, 1pm, 2pm and 3pm
The Shuttle Bus leaves the Breakaways for the return journey to Coober Pedy at......
8.30am, 9.30am, 10.30am, 12.30pm, 1.30pm, 2.30pm and 3.30pm
The bus has a tight schedule to maintain so please don't be late or the bus will leave without you! Before we leave the park at the end of the day we will make sure everyone has a ride.

Kanku-Breakaways Conservation Park, Via Stuart Highway, 30km north of Coober Pedy, South Australia.

The 2024 course is an out and back track, running from the main lookout, to Angkata then back and down the hill, past Two Dogs, across the "moon plain" and alongside the dingo fence. Check out the route or download a gpx file.

Aid stations
There are aid stations along the length of the track. Stations are manned (from 9am), have first aid provisions, radios, drinks/nibbles and toilets.
Prams and dogs
Competitors may push a pram or take their dog on the course. Dogs must be on a lead at all times. Nuisance dogs will be removed from the park.

Children in prams must be registered for insurance purposes but no entry fee is required.
​
Competitors with prams or dogs must start at the rear of the pack and ensure they do not get in the way of other runners.
Pre-qualification
All runners in the marathon must be at least 18 years of age.
Runners in the Ultra Marathon must have completed an ultra marathon in the last 2 years.
Competitors are able to enter any of the other distances.
​
Running is hard work - competitors are expected to be physically fit and suitably trained.
Entry process
Entries will be accepted on the day, prior to the start of each event.

Late entries including on-the-day entries:

must be made at least 30 mins before the scheduled start time of each event

All entries must be paid before race number collection.
